Shopify is my go-to e-commerce platform that I use for all my e-commerce customers. Below is a breakdown of the things that my customers and I love about Shopify and why it will make your life as an online shop owner easier.
Shopify offers a massive host of options, which you can check out here. They also offer exceptional 24/7 support, via phone, chat or email, giving peace of mind that help is always at hand. You can run your business from your phone, laptop, or point of sale in-person with all your data in one place. What more can you ask!
Shopify is an all in one hosted solution, meaning that their pricing includes the software and the hosting on their servers. So there is no manual updating giving your time to spend on more important things. Plus you know your shop is always up to date, there is minimal to no downtime and secure for your customers.
With more than a 100+ beautiful, customisable and clean themes there is plenty of choice for starting an online shop on a budget. There are a number of themes that are free and most are mobile friendly. You can easily change the text, colours and images in the dashboard. Which leads me onto my next fave thing…
One of my favourite things is how easy Shopify’s dashboard is to use. It is very intuitive so you feel empowered to maintain your sites yourself. The analytics are brilliant, you get a quick overview of the most important data for your shop enabling you to track sales and performance. There are reports on products such as the popularity of your prices and/or amounts, and they provide insight into which product launches gained most attention or which products are getting added to the cart the most. Another great report is the Gross Sales by Traffic Source because it shows you your best selling products and how the customers find you be it organic, direct, search engine, etc.
The app store has over a 100+ free and paid apps to add features and functionality to your online shop and add to your customer’s experience. I know that I can find reliable apps that help my customers get all the features they need in their e-commerce store. Plus these apps are reviewed to help you make an informed choice. Examples of apps are shipping integrations, cart recovery, pop-up newsletter, discount coupons and many more!
Shopify POS system and card reader lets you sell at fairs, markets, pop-ups, and everywhere in‑between. Amazing seamless integration with your online shop’s payments and inventory letting you can sell at one or more retail bricks and mortar stores, totally in-sync with your online shop.
Shopify pricing packages, starting from 29$ a month, offers something for everyone, whether you are a start-up or a large online shop with thousands of SKU’s. There pricing is competitive and they also have their own payment processor called Shopify Payments (unfortunately not available in all countries). Shopify Payments is easy to set up and connect to your bank account with competitive transaction fees.
If you blog a lot then the Shopify blog options might be a bit disappointing. However, if you don’t have a huge amount of products, one solution is Showit with Shopify integrated. This gives you the best of both worlds.
Sometimes there aren’t always apps that do exactly what you wish, but with new apps added weekly this problem is reducing and if you really can’t find what you want we can always discuss custom development prices.
Shopify payments are not available in all countries meaning that the transaction fees are more expensive.
